David Ashington is the new Golf Director at CampoReal

With 36 years-old and born in Birmingham, David Ashington is a qualified golf professional by the Professional Golfers Association (PGA - AA level), who has successfully completed a course of four years in the areas of golf teaching, Commercial Studies, Club Renovation and Tournaments Organization and Rules. David was the first professional in Europe to obtain a PGA qualification for Director of Golf.
Starting his career with 16 years of age, David worked for 11 years at Cocks Moors Woods Golf Club in Birmingham, having played the role of Senior Professional Assistant, also having completed five years training in the Belfry Resort.
In 2002 he accepted a new challenge as Head Professional at Warley Woods Golf Course in Birmingham. By introducing innovative concepts and strategies to promote the golf course and to open a new teaching academy, David made this course a popular 9-hole golf course.
The search for a golf destination where the game time was longer brought David to Portugal, where in 2006 he began his duties as Director of Golf at Golden Eagle Resort.
On April 1st, David Ashington has joined CampoReal as the new Director of Golf. "Today, CampoReal is proud to welcome this great professional to our team," says Isabel Coelho, General Manager of the resort.
"It's an honor to belong to the CampoReal team as the Golf Director. It is a resort with great potential to be one of the finest resorts in Portugal since it has all the attractions to bring guests from all over Europe for a fantastic experience, not only for golf but also for all other facilities available at the resort", explains David Ashington.
